Child Journeys

At Busy Little Bees, we believe that a child’s learning journey is something to be shared.
Our partnership with parents is at the heart of what we do, and our “Child Journey” system gives you clear, real-time insight into your child’s experiences, progress and wellbeing.

Through our partnership with Nursery In a Box, every family receives access to a bespoke Parent App that brings your child’s nursery day directly to your phone — safely, securely and instantly.

What You’ll See in the App

A complete picture of progress

Over time, the app builds a meaningful record of your child’s learning journey, capturing their unique interests, strengths and development milestones.

Share your own “mini-observations”

Add photos and comments from home — the things you notice, the magic moments, the achievements.

Your Key Person will weave these into your child’s learning journey.

Live updates & daily diary

Your child’s Key Person shares snapshots, photos and notes throughout the day, so you always know what they’ve been exploring, enjoying and achieving.

Learning observations linked to the EYFS

Significant learning moments are recorded and connected to the Early Years Foundation Stage. You’ll see how activities support development — and what the next steps look like.

Helpful Admin — All in the App

Invoices & payments at a glance (including combined or per-child balances to support Tax-Free Childcare). Booking changes & extra sessions — send requests straight from the app; keep contact details, permissions and consents up to date.

Privacy & security

Nursery in a Box uses industry-standard security and encryption, and is designed to support GDPR-compliant practice in early years settings.

Beyond the app: structured reviews

Your child’s development is supported and reviewed through structured, face-to-face communication

Termly parent evenings plus day-to-day conversations at drop-off/pick-up and by appointment.

Termly review & written report by your child’s Key Person, based on observations and progress.
